OMMU Approval

What is the OMMU Registry?

The Office of Medical Marijuana is the department that manages the Florida medical marijuana program. Sometimes called the OMMU, the medical marijuana use registry, MMURegistry or OMMUR the Office of Medical Marijuana Use Registry is where Florida residents go for Florida state cannabis information:

  • to register for the Florida medical marijuana card (sometimes called a weed card)
  • to find out if you have been approved by the state for medical marijuana
  • re-registering for your medical marijuana card annually
  • check out how many mg you have left on your medical marijuana recommendation.

The Florida OMMU Medical Marijuana Use Registry is the Florida Department of Health system that holds the Florida medical marijuana information. The doctor enters their recommendation into the OMMUR and the dispensaries can view it so you can buy marijuana in Florida.

Where do you register for the Florida Medical Marijuana Card?

The OMMU MMU Registry is the same place where you go to register with the Florida Department of Health once you have seen a medical marijuana doctor and the physician approves you. The physicians enter you into the system first along with the medical marijuana/cannabis recommendation and then the patient can register.

OMMU Approval

OMMU Approval – How do I know when I’m approved for a Medical Marijuana Card?

The days between when you apply with the state for OMMU Approval and when patients are approved can be filled with anxiety and excitement. The application process must be completed correctly. One application rule that we see broken and flagged is when the driver’s license doesn’t match the address entered on the application. You must be a resident of Florida, or be in Florida for 30+ consecutive days and be able to prove it according to the application process rules. Patients can contact the OMMU office if you have any questions about proving you’re a resident.

Typically, if everything is correct, you should be approved for medical marijuana use in about 5 to 10 business days. Don’t count the weekend days.

Applicants that are rejected for medical marijuana use are typically notified first, in about 5 business days. Don’t worry, you can re-submit your application one you’ve fixed the issue that will be identified for you on your denial.

In general, the OMMU MMUR Approval process is fast and easy. CalmEffect is here to help patients every step of the way.

How Do I Find Out if I’m Approved in Florida?

There are 2 ways to find out if you’ve obtained OMMU Approval for Florida medical marijuana use.

1) The state emails you to notify you after your application has been reviewed, they’ve accepted your payment, and patients been approved. That email can sometimes land in the junk/spam folder and sometimes doesn’t arrive at all.

2) Or, patients can log in to your account at MMU Registry FL Health to check your account.

What do I do after I’ve found out I’m approved by the Florida OMMU?

Congratulations! You can visit a medical marijuana treatment center (MMTC), which is what Florida calls their dispensaries! The medical marijuana physicians enter the methods of marijuana intake that they approve you for as well as the mg of medical marijuana THC that they feel is appropriate. You can always log in to your registry account to check your medical marijuana status, recommended medical marijuana treatment, and mg’s remaining.

How do I Renew Your Florida Medical Marijuana Card?

It’s the same process as when you first got your card. Log on to the MMURegistry website and follow the instructions. Also, don’t forget that patients have to visit medical marijuana physicians at least every 7 months. Physicians can provide more information on their specific office rules.
