For Legal Medical Marijuana Users Who Are Worried, It Appears That Trump Doesn’t Really Care

What is the status of federal medical marijuana laws? Well, nothing has really changed. However, states continue to recommend new policy and more and more states move towards medical and recreational marijuana approval.

The rapid growth in the medical marijuana industry in Florida has got some consumers speculating that the upcoming year may open the door up for the state to jump on the bandwagon and fully legalize the use of recreational pot. Though this statement hasn’t hit the state lawmakers’ agendas as of yet, it is certainly a topic that many are curious about.

For now, though, those who are taking part in the medical programs are grateful for the ability to consume their medications without fear. However, it’s almost impossible to ignore Jeff Sessions disdain for marijuana, both medical and recreational, which casts a shadow over legal consumers in the freshly legalized state of Florida that the rug could get pulled out from under them at any time.

While that fear is legitimate, it’s been recognized on several fronts that pot appears to be a non-issue when it actually comes to Trump, who since being elected hasn’t really addressed the topic, though Sean Spicer alluded to some sort of crackdown back in February that hasn’t happened.

What this does mean, at least for the time being, that the legal medical operations can let out a breath as it looks like there aren’t any plans to get rid of these programs. Sure, there doesn’t seem to be any federal medical marijuana law changes, and there may not be a recreational law passing any time soon in the sunshine state, but the acknowledgment that thousands of consumers are getting relief thanks to cannabis products on a federal level is a great comfort, at least for the rest of 2017 and 2018.
