Medical Marijuana Dispensary Rules
As of November 15th, a vote was passed in Orange County in Florida that in order to accommodate the 35000 and growing enrolled legal uses of medical marijuana that a large number of dispensaries has to open, and fast. Until 2020 the number of actual centers where one could purchase marijuana has been capped at 25, which is a pretty big leap from the current 13. Additionally approved dispensary locations have to adhere to a lot of medical marijuana dispensary rules like only being able to provide cannabis between the hours of 7:00am to 9:00pm, have a safe distance of 500 feet from any schools, and, of course, have a valid state license of operation.
Another part of the law stipulates that every county has control over what they allow in terms of actual brick and mortar shops, and in some cases there may be push back about opening a physical location in some counties. However that doesn’t stop dispensaries from delivery the goods to their patients. One the number of enrollees hits 100,000 there will be another vote to determine  how many more dispensaries need to be opened.
Some new faces that are joining the already established dispensaries are 3 Boys Farm, Curaleaf, Keith St. Germain Nursery Farms, Loops Nursery and Greenhouses Inc., Sunbulb Co. Inc and Treadwell Nursery. These newer centers join well known dispensaries like Truelove, Surterra and Aphria, who were some of the earlier facilities that were approved to grow in Florida. Additionally some of these new locations with be strictly delivery services while others will have more of a storefront for customers pick up in person.
