Trump Signals Support For Legislation Easing US Ban On Pot
President Trump: On 6/8/18 President Trump actually said that he was leaning towards siding with Congress in their proposal which said that the Federal government would not penalize users of marijuana if they were following State laws.
Smoking Update: The State has appealed the stay, so nothing is final yet. Prior to the appeal, the Judge had told the State of Florida to start preparing for allowing medical marijuana smoking.
President Donald Trump said Friday that he’s inclined to support a bipartisan effort in Congress to ease the U.S. ban on marijuana, a proposal that would dramatically reshape the nation’s legal landscape for pot users and businesses.
The federal ban that puts marijuana on the same level as LSD and heroin has created a conflict with more than two dozen states that have legalized pot in some form.
The legislation would ensure states have the right to determine the best approach to marijuana within their borders, but some U.S. restrictions would remain, including recreational sales to people under 21.
Dispensary Openings: Trulieve opened a dispensary in New Port Richie. Other cities that saw recent dispensary openings include Largo, Ft Myers, and Miami Beach.
