What you will need to register for a Maryland Medical Marijuana Card:
1. A valid, accessible email account.
2. A Social Security Number
3. An electronic copy of a valid government-issued photo ID
4. Proof that applicant lives in Maryland
5. Clear, recent photograph (electronic)
The MMCC Portal- Where do you register for the Maryland Medical Cannabis Card?
The MMCC registration is hosted on the Maryland One Stop Portal. This is the place where you go to register with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.
The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission reviews your application and will email you with results. If you are approved, the email will contain your username and MMCC Patient ID Number. Your physician will need this to provide a written certification for medical cannabis.
The written certification, combined with your Patient ID Number will allow you to purchase medical cannabis at the licensed dispensaries.
Once you have seen a medical marijuana doctor and the physician approves you the doctor will provide you with a written certification.

What are the Qualifying Medical Conditions for Maryland cannabis?
In general, a chronic medical condition that include severe or chronic pain may be approved for medical cannabis. Also, conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder, and severe nausea may qualify.
Maryland qualifying medical conditions include:
cachexia, anorexia, wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, glaucoma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or another chronic medical condition which is severe and for which other treatments have been ineffective

The days between when you apply with the state for Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission approval and when patients are approved to purchase medical cannabis can be filled with anxiety and excitement.
