Our story

CommCan was founded in 2015 by siblings Ellen, Jon, and Marc Rosenfeld, who transformed their family's century-long presence in Millis into Massachusetts' premier homegrown cannabis operation. What started as a serendipitous opportunity when their father's industrial property was zoned for medical marijuana has grown into a pioneering force in the state's cannabis landscape.CommCan opened their first medical dispensary in Southborough on July 24, 2018, marking their entry as the first woman-owned LGBTQ+ owned dispensary in Massachusetts. The company expanded rapidly, opening their first adult-use dispensary in Millis in November 2019, followed by a second co-located recreational and medical dispensary in Rehoboth in November 2021.Major milestones include launching SIP Lemon Soda in 2020, the first cannabis-infused beverage available for recreational customers on the East Coast, and partnering with Cookies in 2021 to become their cultivation and distribution partner throughout Massachusetts. In 2023, CommCan consolidated operations by closing their Southborough location and transferring medical sales to Rehoboth, optimizing their footprint for efficiency and customer access.
