Candyland
Candyland is Ken Estes' daytime answer to his own Granddaddy Purple. Around 2011 the Bay Area breeder crossed GDP with Bay Platinum Cookies, aiming for a plant that kept some of the purple parent's body comfort while standing up better to mold and suiting waking hours. The result leans sativa despite its heavy-hitting parents, and it picked up competition wins soon after release. Buds are compact and camouflage green, threaded with golden pistils under a sugary coat of trichomes. The aroma matches the name: sweet berry candy over an earthy, peppery base. People commonly describe a cheerful, chatty and creative lift with only light body ease, which is why it is more often chosen for social gatherings than for bedtime. Some menus spell it Kandyland.
