Cannabist Dispensary - Sarasota

The Cannabist is the retail brand of The Cannabist Company, the multi-state operator formerly known as Columbia Care, which introduced the Cannabist store name in 2021 and later adopted it for the whole company. The directory lists 35 stores across Illinois, California, Arizona, New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, West Virginia and Massachusetts. Who can shop depends on the state: the company's West Virginia and Virginia stores are medical-only, while its Lowell, Massachusetts store serves both medical and recreational customers.

Stores carry products from outside brands along with the company's own lines, which include Seed & Strain and Triple Seven. The company pitches its stores as uncomplicated and welcoming to people at any level of cannabis experience, and the first question at the door is whether you are 21 or older or a qualified patient. Illinois stores are in Chicago and Villa Park, New Jersey stores are in Deptford, Vineland and Mays Landing, and Virginia's medical dispensaries are in the Richmond area, in Carytown and on Laburnum.
