The Botanist

The Botanist is a dispensary chain with stores in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Ohio and New Jersey. It started in medical cannabis, and its stores generally serve both registered patients and adult-use customers aged 21 and older. Ohio stores include downtown Akron near the University of Akron, Canton, Columbus, Solon and Wickliffe; New Jersey stores include Williamstown, Collingswood and Egg Harbor Township; and Massachusetts has a store on Route 20 in Shrewsbury near Worcester. First-time medical patients in Ohio are asked to complete an intake form, which can be printed and filled out ahead of time.

Stores stock flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, tinctures and topicals from in-state producers along with The Botanist's own in-house line, and the company also cultivates in Massachusetts. Staff offer one-on-one consultations, online orders can be picked up in store, and a loyalty program earns points on purchases. The Collingswood store runs as an outlet with everyday low pricing, and New Jersey medical patients shop tax-exempt. Several stores list free on-site parking and an ATM.
