Can you bring cannabis to the Grand Canyon?
Grand Canyon National Park is federal land, and cannabis is illegal anywhere in the park under federal law, including in vehicles, campgrounds and park lodges. Rangers enforce it.
Visiting the Grand Canyon
There is no dispensary inside Grand Canyon National Park, which is federal land, and stores near the South Rim are scarce, so most visitors stop in the towns along I-40 on the way in rather than near the canyon itself. Flagstaff and Williams are the usual gateways.
The deals below come from stores within about eighty miles of the South Rim and are refreshed daily. Arizona sells to adults 21 and over with a valid ID, out-of-state visitors included. Plan the stop before you head north. And plan where you will use what you buy: the national park is federal land, where cannabis is illegal, so keep it out of the park and use it at lodging in Williams, Flagstaff or elsewhere outside the park.
Getting there
- From Flagstaff, US-180 runs northwest to the South Rim in about ninety minutes.
- From Williams, AZ-64 runs north to the South Rim in about an hour; the Grand Canyon Railway also leaves from Williams.
- Keep purchases sealed and out of reach while driving. Open cannabis in a vehicle is illegal in Arizona.
- Do not bring cannabis into the park, and do not drive after consuming.
