Poetry of Plants began with an unlikely transition from recording studio to grow room. In the mid-2000s, founder Nelson Lindsley was a signed recording artist with Geffen Records, where cannabis was part of his creative expression. When the record label folded, his path took an unexpected turn toward cultivation, driven by a deeply personal mission.The catalyst came when Lindsley's brother, a brain cancer survivor, found relief through cannabis during his recovery. This experience ignited Lindsley's passion for growing medicine, transforming his approach from financial gain to pure exploration of controlled environment agriculture. Starting with limited resources and DIY growing systems, he began experimenting with various hydroponic methodologies including aeroponic, flood/drain, soilless, and deep water culture systems.What started as Poetry of Plants' online format to share cultivation work and collaborate with gardens worldwide evolved into something much bigger. The digital platform became a conduit to meet other growers and visit their farms, helping them achieve better results. Over two decades in the industry and more than a decade of cultivation experience, Lindsley has consulted on cultivation sites across Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and California.
