Missouri Bars Can Sell CBD
Missouri Now Allowing CBD-Infused Alcohol
Missouri’s new 2018 Farm Bill was passed and became law at the end of last year. This new bill brought about the question of the legality of CBD being mixed with alcohol. Missouri’s Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) has since issued an opinion on the matter. According to the state document, ATC has “no legal authority to bar the use of CBD oil in combination with alcoholic beverages as long as the oil contains no THC. If the CBD oil has no THC content, it would be considered the same as any other nonalcoholic product.
The ATC’s opinion now allows Missouri restaurants, bars, and other vendors to serve CBD-infused cocktails and other beverages. Since the opinion’s release, a few restaurants have already jumped on the bandwagon. For these vendors, the products have been reportedly flying off the shelves.
The state has “no legal authority to bar the use of CBD oil in combination with alcoholic beverages as long as the oil contains no THC.”
