11/17/20 - Rhode Island’s incoming House speaker said the chamber is “very close” to having majority support for legalizing marijuana, and he’s “absolutely” open to enacting it in 2021. The comments follow the Senate majority leader calling for legal cannabis this month.
11/10/20 - Rhode Island’s Senate majority leader said it’s time to legalize marijuana, and the body's president and incoming House speaker also expressed more openness to ending cannabis prohibition than previously now that the state is seeking revenue to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
