Smoking Medical Marijuana Inches Towards Reality in Florida.
March 7 Update: The Senate approved a change to the law that bans smoking medical marijuana in Florida.
What does this mean:
1) We're on our way to getting smoking legalized in Florida, but not quite yet. The legislature has taken Governor DeSantis' words seriously and is making the strides to hit his March 15 deadline.
2) The new law would allow for patients to receive up to 2.5 ounces of medical marijuana flower every 35 days if it is recommended by their qualified medical marijuana doctor. Smoking medical marijuana would be prohibitied in public areas and there will be other restrictions on children who need access to medical marijuana.
3) There still is more government process that needs to happen before it goes live. Additionally, once approved, the dispensaries will need to produce and stock product.
